Internal Orders

Finance

Definition

Internal Orders are cost objects used for tracking costs and revenues within SAP.

Detailed Description

Internal Orders in SAP are flexible cost objects allowing detailed tracking and reporting of costs and, in some cases, revenues associated with specific tasks or projects within an organization. They are typically used for monitoring costs of small to medium-sized initiatives in an organization which are not as extensive as a project but require precise tracking, such as company events, marketing campaigns, or specific administrative costs. Although initially planned costs are tracked, actual cost is recorded, and variances can be analyzed and reported.
